OUR STORY
It all began by winning competitions..........
Smokin Bros came to fruition after years of enjoying cooking for our family, friends and the community to raise funds for several different charities. Cody Bush and Anthony Lawson have been cooking for charitable events and competitions for several years together. Our first event was the “Best Jerk Chicken contest”, where local restaurants and amateur chefs competed for the title to raise funds for the NCVO; we won this event two years in a row. This year we participated and won the Cayman Cookout, Best Amateur Chef award sponsored by the Ritz Carlton and Bon Vivant. Our dish was judged by some of the top chefs in the world, including Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert to name a few.
For four consecutive years, we have cooked for the Feed Our Future beach BBQ’s and were awarded best Island Style Pig. This event is the largest annual fundraiser for Feed Our Future which over the years has become increasingly popular raising in excess of $15,000 which provided approximately 2500 lunches for our children in 2014. Cody has also hosted a cooking class for Feed or Future at King’s Supply, teaching parents how to buy in bulk to save money. Another charitable event we have supported is Aimee’s Angels, a local charity supporting breast cancer patients and survivors.
